The institute is connected to the EDUROAM service. You can authenticate for this service with your username and password on the mailserver. Your user account must be activated for this service. You may apply for activation via e-mail to eduroam@is.mpg.de. The activation can be revoked on request, it is revoked automatically when you leave the institute.
The EDUROAM authentication is using a procedure which is activated when you login or change you password in the Web-GUI (Squirrelmail or eGroupWare). The EDUROAM authentication server uses an own synchronized database. Therefore, it can take up to 10 minutes until a modification is active.
To configure the EDUROAM connection you may use the EDUROAM Configuration Assistant Tool with the configuration files on this page. These files are only usable for users which have an account on our mail server mail.is.mpg.de and have the roaming access set. Please select the download link for your operating system and follow the instruction for your system on that page. You have to provide your username with our suffix @is.mpg.de and your password on our mail server. The installation runs essentially automatically. Configure the EDUROAM connection before using it!
